New In Store This Week...

'Preceded by its addictive new title track and last year’s incendiary “Asking For A Friend,” Your Favourite Toy is Foo Fighters’ 12th album — and quite possibly their hardest rocking to date. Burning through 10 absolute bangers in under 40 minutes, Your Favorite Toy demands and rewards repeat listens in equal measure. It’s Foo Fighters pushing boundaries as they pin the volume meters, adding new dimensions to their timeless signature sound.'
Available in store and online now - opaque red vinyl, standard vinyl and CD

The Great Divide, is the highly anticipated new album from 2x Grammy Nominee Noah Kahan.
'A reflection on Noah’s past, his now-complicated relationship to family, friends, his native Vermont, as well as the disconnect and distance that silence and unspoken truths create between people.
Produced by Stick Season collaborator Gabe Simon as well as new collaborator Aaron Dessner'
Vinyl and CD formats available

The legend that is Ringo Starr returns with new album Long Long Road, a set of country-leaning songs shaped by longtime collaborator T Bone Burnett

British singer Lily Allen is a genuine popstar, pin up, role model and shop favourite. Whilst she is currently on tour with her new album West End Girl, this week sees her previous albums It's Not Me It's You and Alright Still reissued on clear vinyl. Available in store and online

We are still reeling from a Record Store Day that was bigger than ever!
We want to say a massive thank you to all of you who came along and made it such a great one, it was so brilliant to see you all.

Shout out to our amazing queuers - this year's queue began at 5.15pm before we closed on Friday 17th! It snaked all around the corner to Bargain Buys and we were serving the queue until 12.30pm - a record! Thanks to the hardworking staff at Greggs who opened specially at 5.00am.

We hope you enjoyed the live music as much as we did. RSD wouldn't be the same for us without Experimental Sonic Machines to entertain us with homemade costumes, instruments and Ernie The Robot Drummer. The whole spectacle packs down into just one box which Peter K Rollings transports on the Lincoln to Louth bus.
Having blues rock band Red Giant play in the shop window is another one off the bucket list. Dave Simpson is such a phenomenal guitarist. We have loved his music for years. Do look out for their forthcoming gigs and you can also buy Red Giant's debut album in store.

Big shout out to Shaun Bridges of Gig Services who sorted the sound/tech support for Red Giant's performance in store. Shaun flew back from his honeymoon and came straight to work for RSD - we really appreciated your time Shaun and congratulations to you and Jo.
BeatLine are a Louth based community percussion band who put a smile on all our faces on Saturday afternoon with a performance of South American rhythms outside the shop. This was their debut performance and we can't wait to see where they pop up next.
It was great to have HiFi specialists Expressive Audio with us once again with their pop up shop.
Check out their article this week about why CDs are making a comeback HERE
We also hope you enjoyed having our pop up second vinyl shop outside for the first time this year. Our quality second hand vinyl always has to make way for the hundreds of RSD releases so it was good to give it a spot to shine this time round.
RSD takes a lot of preparation and hard work before, during and after the day so let's take this opportunity to thank our brilliant Team of staff and volunteers.
To those of you who ordered RSD26 titles online on Monday evening Mark and team have been frantically packing up the orders all week and you will be receiving your items in the post over the next few days if you haven't already!

Did you spot that our brand new Tote Bags landed on Record Store Day - what do you think? Dark green with a white logo, this might be our favourite colour combo yet! Only a fiver in store or via this website... more info HERE
We were also delighted to receive a fabulous framed illustration of the shop from a very talented young customer and RSD queuer Flossy who is studying art at school. It will be going pride of place on the shop wall. Thank you.

The next film at Louth Film Club...

Monday 27 April at 7.30 p.m.
Palestine 36
Annemarie Jacir / France, UK etc / 2025 / 115 mins / Cert. 12A / Some subtitles
In 1936, Palestinian villages revolt against British colonial rule as Jews are handed over more land. The unrest develops into outright armed revolt and the British army responds with violent assuredness. The film has all the epic features of the events it portrays: anger, sadness, cruelty, love, humanity and sacrifice.

And if that's not enough for the Louth film fans we have heard about another local group Louth Cine Circle who are big fans of the Playhouse Cinema in the town. From May they will be showing short seasons of mainly English language films, starting with a screening of the 1957 British comedy classic, THE SMALLEST SHOW ON EARTH, starring Peter Sellers on May 10th at 2pm.

Louth based artist Jayne Cooper is opening up her Queen Street Studios (below Louth Jazz Club) for a very special event on Saturday 2nd May
