New in store at Off The Beaten Tracks this week....

Minnesota indie rock band Low formed in '93 reissues are out on vinyl out this week - revisit Things We Lost In The Fire (2001), Trust (2002) and Secret Name (1999)

Sanctuary, the latest album from Evanescence features tracks produced by Cervini/Fish alongside songs produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Korn, Foo Fighters, Rush)

Available as 'Twilight Vinyl'

'Originally released in 1971, Satori is Flower Travellin’ Band’s groundbreaking masterpiece and one of the most visionary albums of the early heavy rock era. It fused hard rock, psychedelia, progressive music and traditional Eastern influences into a sound unlike anything heard before.

Unlike many rock albums of the era, Satori is structured as a continuous musical journey, with its five tracks presented as interconnected movements rather than conventional songs. The band’s powerful rhythm section, extended guitar passages, and the commanding vocals of Joe Yamanaka create an atmosphere that feels both intense and hypnotic.'

New 'Munster' version LP

'Following last year's world tour, Sparks were invited to perform a one-off show on the Moon - the first band in history to do so! Includes an introduction and outro from Cate Blanchett, who accompanied the band on their lunar trip.

Sparks Live On The Moon comprises a full live set of twenty songs spanning the band's 54 year career, including 'This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us', 'The Number One Song In Heaven', 'When Do I Get To Sing "My Way"', 'The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte' and songs from their most recent album MAD!'

'Moon coloured' double LP

'1999 is the debut mixtape from Pro Era crew member and Brooklyn MC, Joey Bada$$. Leaning into the golden era sound of hip-hop, Joey Bada$$ garnered widespread acclaim from some of Hip-Hop’s most vaunted tastemakers by crafting a project that paid homage to the 90s, despite only being 17 years old at the time. With the standout tracks, “Waves”, “Survival Tactics”, and “Snakes”, the 15 track album features production from Chuck Strangers, Lord Finesse, MF Doom, and J Dilla, as well as guest appearances from Pro Era members Kirk Knight, CJ Fly, Nyck Caution, Rokamouth, Dessy Hinds, Dyemond Lewis, T’nah Apex and the late Capital Steez.'

'Windy and Carl Meet Optigan Conservatory is a purposefully misleading title for the first collaborative work from four friends who met close to thirty years prior. All active participants in Michigan independent music circles since the early ’90s...In the last days of 2024, Windy and Carl and Optigan Conservatory got together, falling into a mode of sound creation that was almost hyper-natural. Without any discussion outside of the usual stream of jokes and chatter, the quartet set up and started communicating. Added to Windy and Carl’s hovering augmented chord voicings and vaporous guitar drones were electric piano and synth bedding from Frank and Fred. After the initial sessions, all involved parties took time to consider what they’d made, adding new layers and editing the pieces into more definitive articulations.'

'There are few groups more adept at weaponising atmosphere than Bristol's Massive Attack, whose best work has always thrived in the murky territory between dread and political exhaustion. 'Boots On The Ground' feels perversely skeletal, but in a way that gives every detail this enormous gravitational pull. A blunted percussion loop drags itself across the track while frostbitten piano chords hover in the distance like failing streetlights. Into that negative space wanders Tom Waits, sounding utterly spectral as he mutters fragments of militarised violence with astonishing weariness.'

Eco vinyl with obi strips

Talk Talk reissue The Colour of Spring. The 1986 album shows the band's progression from their synth-pop roots of The Party's Over and It's My Life, more towards their improvisation-based work and provided the foundation of them producing their pioneering sound in their next album Spirit Of Eden.

Anonymous UK metalcore/electronica rock band 'President delivers the highly anticipated debut album Blood Of Your Empire - 10 tracks that delve into a world in crisis challenging mortality, faith and more.'

Ltd 'Lemonade' vinyl

'Natalie Imbruglia is known to millions as the star behind the global hit ‘Torn’ which remains one of the defining songs of the nineties. It started a phenomenal run of success which has included two BRIT Awards, three Grammy nominations, a Silver Clef, eight ARIA Awards, seven million sales of her debut album Left of the Middle, and a #1 for Counting Down The Days. Recent times have seen her back in the spotlight, having performed alongside Olivia Rodrigo. It’s the perfect time for a new chapter, which starts with the news that she will release her new album Algorithm.'

There is currently an on-line questionnaire available for local people to comment on the Mansion House building and the building next door No.14 on Upgate, Louth.

As you may well know these well loved, local historic buildings, remembered fondly as the old library and most recently as a popular restaurant, are currently closed and empty.

A group of local people are hoping to reopen the buildings as a community space for the people of Louth and visitors.

To make a success of this amazing opportunity they would really like your feedback and thoughts on the future of these building as they want the Mansion House to add to and complement what Louth currently has to offer, and not to provide direct competition with what's already here.

As many of you are local to the area and have probably frequented the Mansion House over the years, they have suggested that you could assist them in their quest to meet the needs of the local community.

Please therefore use the link below to complete a short questionnaire on the Mansion House at your earliest convenience:
