New Zealand indie singer songwriter 'Aldous Harding releases her fifth studio album, Train On The Island. The 10-track Train On The Island was co-produced by long-time collaborator John Parish (PJ Harvey, Dry Cleaning) at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales, where the pair recorded the New Zealander’s previous bodies of work, Party (2017), Designer (2019) and Warm Chris (2022). Joining Harding and Parish on Train On The Island are pedal steel player Joe Harvey-Whyte, harpist Mali Llywelyn, synth artist Thomas Poli, drummer Sebastian Rochford (Polar Bear) and Huw Evans (H. Hawkline) on bass, vocals, acoustic/electric guitar and organ.'
Blue vinyl and CD versions out 8th May

'Ranjha is the collaboration between award-winning composer and Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, celebrated composer/musician Shye Ben-Tzur, and the Indian ensemble, the Rajasthan Express. The album is a follow-up to their acclaimed 2015 debut, Junun. While Junun was recorded in a makeshift studio within the 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort in Rajasthan, India, Ranjha was created in a more intimate setting – Jonny Greenwood’s studio in Oxford, England. The album features 11 new tracks, blending the group’s signature cross-cultural sound with a contemporary edge'
Vinyl and CD available from Friday 8th May 2026

Ohio rock duo Black Keys release Peaches! this Friday 8th May. 'It is the Akron duo’s fourteenth studio album (their sixth since 2019), a visceral and raw 10-song collection described by singer Dan Auerbach as the band’s “most natural record” since their 2002 debut, The Big Come Up. In similar DIY spirit, the album was recorded with all musicians playing in the same room with few overdubs, and is the first record mixed entirely by the band themselves since 2006’s Magic Potion. The songs chosen reflect Auerbach and bandmate Patrick Carney’s obsessive record-collecting habit, which in recent years has escalated into an ongoing series of Record Hang DJ-set dance parties where they spin vintage 45s for packed, high-energy dancefloors in the coolest spots across the globe.
The cover art for Peaches! is based around an iconic image from Memphis-born photographer, William Eggleston, and marks the return of Patrick’s brother, Michael Carney, overseeing the art direction.'
Limited white vinyl and CD versions available

'White Pepper is hands down Ween at their most accessible. The album's title combines the Beatles White Album and Sgt. Pepper's titles, hinting at what lies within. It's a genius only Ween could conjure up across White Pepper's twelve tracks. Long out of print, this new coloured vinyl reissue of the original album is on green pepper vinyl. Featuring "Bananas and Blow", "Even If You Don't", "Stay Forever" and more.'
Green vinyl and CD available
(Ween's album Quebec is also out Friday though it's been slightly delayed arriving from the supplier in the next few days)

'Middle of Nowhere is the sixth studio album from eight-time Grammy Award winner American singer songwriter Kacey Musgraves, and is made for two-stepping. The collection draws from a love of Texas dancehall classics, humorous takes on the human condition, and the space where traditional Country borders many sounds including Norteño and even Zydeco.'

Awake one night in the early hours Mark was discovered Far Welter'd which is The East Lincolnshire Dialect Society, when he heard a radio programme called Tongue and Talk: The Dialect Poets - East Lincolnshire exploring poetry from the county hosted by Louth resident Alan Mumby.
'The Society’s name has Danish roots, referring to a sheep that’s fallen on its back and is struggling to recover - and Alan asks whether Lincolnshire dialect, so rarely featured in today’s media, is in similar distress.'
At the time of writing there's about a week left to listen to this very entertaining and fascinating half hour broadcast on BBC Sounds
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002tznb
Far Welter’d is raising money to install a touchscreen in Louth Museum and Louth Library which will allow users to listen to Lincs dialect recordings, have a go at speaking dialect, and much more. Lincolnshire dialect is part of our cultural heritage, just as much as our treasured buildings.
They need to raise £15,000 to fund the project for 10 years. You can donate here via Bank transfer
