Re-opening Off The Beaten Tracks, New Releases & The Rolling Stones Reissues Extravaganza!

Posted by Mark Merrifield on

Phew, it's been quite a week!

Good News! After 66 working days spent at home our Louth shop has re-opened. Our temporary opening hours are Wed-Sat 10am to 3pm (late opening til 6pm on Fri)

We are following all East Lindsey Council safety guidelines. We're using the local Pin Gin distillery's Bottomley Distiller's Hand Sanitiser and handmade cotton face masks from Esme On Plum Island via Ebay. Please note at present only 2 customers can browse at any one time. Thanks for your patience.

Re-open

We would like to say a BIG thank you to all our customers who have supported us during lockdown. We are enjoying seeing you again.

The Love Records Stores online event certainly went with a bang. Thanks to everyone who supported us. Our fave discovery was a album called 'Cult Survivor' by Sofie - aka Sofie Royer, a musician, DJ & artist from Vienna. Her debut album is released 26th June and was available with a limited print for the Love Record Stores event. We've been enjoying to her take on electronic pop this week.

Sofie Cult Survivor

We also loved the King Gizzard releases with their eco friendly packaging instead of the usual shrink wrap. Definitely the way forward.

We have a colourful selection of new arrivals and new in this week including...

If you are a Stones fan you are in for a treat...a whole bunch of their albums have been re-issued on Heavyweight Vinyl. Remastered and cut at revelatory half-speed at Abbey Road Studios. Plus a brand new track called Living In A Ghost Town is out 26/06 as a 10" orange vinyl.

The Rolling Stones Reissues

New in...We have copies of Rolling Blackout C.F's new album on cassette plus reissues on vinyl from Melt-Banana and Comets On Fire.

New releases from Nadine ShahRay LaMontagne, Khruangbin on limited pink, Mystery JetsPublic Practice, Haim on limited yellow vinyl and Lee Scratch Perry curated Black Ark Dub Volumes 1 and 2.

Depeche Mode have set a 'new gold standard in concert films' with their latest release Spirits in the Forest, a live concert film, documentary & album. It is available as a double CD or a 2CD & 2DVD set.

Poet laureate Simon Armitage fronts a brand-new band called Lyr, with respected musicians/producers; Patrick James Pearson and Richard Walters to create an album of Spoken word / poetry led but with beautiful and unique soundscapes called Call In The Crash Team.

***Shameless self promotion alert!*** My own musical project Corasandel's new single Cracked Light had a play on BBC Radio Lincolnshire's BBC Introducing show on Sat 21st June and is released as a download on Bandcamp & Spotify 26/06/2020.

Please note that our stock is held in two locations so whilst the website may be showing an item as Out Of Stock we may have it at the shop and vice versa. Always worth an ask!

Thanks again for your support. Look forward to welcoming you back in the shop, all the best Mark
