Glad to be back in the shop again after so long. I appreciate it's not quite back to normal yet but it's a step in the right direction and very good it is to see the outside world again.
New Release News!
Paul Weller's latest album On Sunset is warm & experimental. It's available on limited coloured vinyl, as a deluxe CD hardback book with bonus tracks or standard CD.
Sparks' new album A Steady Drip, Drip, Drip is the band's 24th album since 1971, they get more recognition as each year passes.
Keleketla! is a collaboration between Ninja Tunes founders Coldcut, a group of musicians from South Africa plus others from around the world. The result is pretty wonderful and you can get it on limited pink vinyl or CD. Keleketla! breeds an impossibly enticing sense of hope that one day things might be better.' Loud & Quiet
The Charlatans have re-released their classic 2nd album Between 10th and 11th as an expanded version on double clear vinyl :)
Martin Freeman & Eddie Piller Present Jazz On The Corner Two are back with their 2nd compilation of favourite jazz tracks from their own record collections.
Jayda G has a new 12" EP of underground dance music Both of Us/Are U Down. Pleasingly the record is made from black recycled lead-free calcium zinc based vinyl and the sleeve is made from recycled paper with vegan ink print & no shrink-wrap. Nice work.
Forever Blue is the debut album on silver vinyl from 'death gospel maverick' A.A.Wlliams 'A rapturous blend of post-rock and post-classical, Forever Blue smoulders with uncoiling melodies and haunted atmospheres'
Jameszoo & Metropole Orkest release Melkweg a double LP conducted by Jules Buckley. 'A truly joyful journey, elevating compositions from Jameszoo’s 2016 album “fool” to transcendental realms.'
Plus new in - 10 tracks of 'hushed, folk-soul' on Ray LaMontagne's Monovison now out on vinyl.
I'm so chuffed to hear that two of Off The Beaten Tracks' favourites have new albums out this autumn. First off is The Ascension, a double album by Sufjan Stevens released 25th September. I couldn't resist all formats so it's available to pre-order now on limited clear vinyl, black vinyl, on CD or cassette.
Next up is a new album from This Is The Kit called Off Off On out 23rd October. We've watched this innovative & captivating songwriter (Kate Stables) go from strength to strength & we've been blessed to host their sellout gigs in Louth, Lincs many times over the years so we're very excited to see what the latest release brings.
'In difficult times, it’s a record that feels like a lifeline, moving against the tide, standing against the storm. Keep going' Rough Trade Records
Off Off On is available to Pre-Order now on limited red viny, black vinyl or CD.
The BBC's Glastonbury coverage at the weekend certainly brought back many happy (and slightly hazy) memories from Glasters between 1995-2002. I was caught on camera moshing with my mate Jamie to Belly back in the day!
We'd love to get back there one day. It's well worth checking out the new artists that would have been on the BBC Introducing Stage this year had things been different.

We were very sad to hear the news that Moon On The Water, a fabulous live music venue in Cleethorpes has been forced to close its doors. Save Our Venues is a campaign to help UK independent venues keep from permanently closing. There are various ways you can get involved to ensure that our live music scene survives this crisis. In the absence of the usual live music events in Louth at present look out for the Big Busker Takeover on 11th July.
Louth's own annual arts festival Zero Degrees Festival is sponsoring ten local and regional acts to bring some music back to the streets of Louth. Playing at ten different locations around Louth Town centre from around 11:30am until 2:30pm, each act will bring their own unique style to market day. West African multi-instrumental delights, Irish harp, folk/Americana, instrumental guitar compositions and pop/rock will all be on show, entertaining shoppers, visitors and residents alike.
Thanks for your support. All the best for a great weekend, Mark
