New In Store!

**If you are waiting for your items to arrive we have been experiencing delays in receiving stock as 5 of our biggest suppliers, including Sony and Universal, have moved their warehouse this month which has led to ongoing delays that are out of our hands. Very frustrating for all independent record shops and for you. We hope normal service will resume very soon. Thanks for your patience

'Thirty Seconds to Mars makes a triumphant return with their sixth studio album, It’s The End Of The World But It’s A Beautiful Day. The record heralds a new era for the band, one that not only explores the darker sides of the human experience but the hope as well, an arresting reminder that even in the face of seemingly impossible obstacles, there is still beauty to be found in the world. '

Limited edition orange vinyl

'Everything Will Change is a feature-length documentary concert film of The Postal Service’s performance at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA during their 2013 reunion tour. A collaboration between Benjamin Gibbard (of Death Cab for Cutie) and Jimmy Tamborello (from Dntel), with Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis, The Postal Service released Give Up, their one and only album, in 2003. That record went on to sell over a million copies and most of the band’s fans never had the chance to see them perform live. In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of Give Up, the band reunited to tour the world. Everything Will Change captures one of the nights when everything did change. '

Limited edition coloured vinyl

'Phantasmagoria In Blue is Mick Harvey’s new album of duets in collaboration with Mexican artist Amanda Acevedo.

The album contains 14 tracks sourced from existing duets, songs that previously were not duets, translations from Spanish and a sprinkling of original compositions. Thematically it explores the perennial themes of mortality, love and mankind’s search for meaning as well as an enthused engagement with the enigmatic and mythical.'

 Public Service Broadcasting

'Public Service Broadcasting release This New Noise, the newly remixed and remastered live recording of their acclaimed 2022 BBC Proms show at London’s Royal Albert Hall, via Test Card Recordings...Their most ambitious undertaking yet, Bright Magic brought the listener to Europe’s heart and de facto capital, the cultural and political metropolis that is the ‘Hauptstadt’ of the Federal Republic of Germany – Berlin. Released in late 2021, and debuting at No 2 in the UK album chart, the band’s fourth album was described by Electronic Sound as “their most ambitious, leftfield and majestic work to date, their glorious creative peak, their magnum opus”, DIY said “it flourished at its most calm and erupted at its most fervent” and Clash said it “cemented PSB's reputation as a vital act right at the top of their game”. The album also featured multiple BBC Radio 6 Music A-Listed singles, including “People, Let’s Dance” [ft. EERA] and “Blue Heaven” [ft. Andreya Casablanca].'

“This is my most American album,” American singer songwriter, known for her theatrical live perfomances, Mitski says about her seventh record, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, and the music feels like a profound act of witnessing this country, in all of its private sorrows and painful contradictions.'

'Up until Raising Hell, the rap juggernaut we know as Run-DMC was still in its building and breaking-down- doors phase. In 1986 that changed, and in a dramatic way. With their third long-player, the group had reached the mountaintop. It was THE record that proved hip-hop wasn’t a fad. Raising Hell marked an important and significant new era for the group. Leaving producer Larry Smith for up-and- coming sonic innovator Rick Rubin (still co-produced by Run’s brother Russell Simmons), they began to fully transition not only their own sound, but the sound of the entire genre. Less live playing – with some exceptions – and a slicker, tighter sonic attack.

Musical aesthetics aside, though, at their core they stayed true to the essence of hiphop: two turntables and a microphone, or two. It’s impossible to talk about the album without its worldwide smash, “Walk This Way,” which hit #4 on the Billboard pop charts and saw the group digging in the rock crates to summon Aerosmith in the flesh, combining Steven Tyler’s and Joe Perry’s musicianship with the group’s own take on the ‘70s classic.'

'The Who release Who's Next? Remastered 50th anniversary edition. Who's Next is the fifth studio album by The Who, released on 14 August 1971. Its origins lie in an abortive multi-media rock opera written by chief songwriter Pete Townshend called Lifehouse. The album was commercially and critically successful, and became the only one by the group to top the UK charts.'

4LP box set, standard vinyl and picture disc and CD all available

'Kristin Hersh’s (Throwing Muses) new album is a cinematic road trip; a series of personal vignettes from a fiercely independent auteur, sitting plush with layers of all- consuming strings and mellotron.'

Limited edition clear vinyl and CD available

'End is perhaps the “grandest” Explosions in the Sky album – melding the quiet restraint and crushing feel of their early releases with the sonic texturing and ornate experimentation of their later releases, and their increasingly deep film and television scoring catalog, influenced by personal tastes stretching from classical to soul to experimental ambient music.'

This 2023 repress of King Of Cowards by Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs is available on a special, limited edition ‘Regal Splatter’ vinyl.

'Like a lucid Shane MacGowan fronting a frazzled house band, Yowl are a South London based 5 piece of menacing-indie storytellers, swinging from intense proto-punk to swooning balladry. Their debut album Milksick is released on Clue Records / EMI North.'

Courteeners release their fourth album Concrete Love. Written and recorded in part in Montmartre by Courteeners talismanic singer / songwriter Liam Fray last autumn, Concrete Love is the band's most rounded and satisfying record to date - its release coincides perfectly with a moment when they reach the peak of their live powers. The album sees the band working again with regular collaborator / producer Joe Cross (Hurts / Chloe Howl).

Hox is the first full length album since 2020 from funk/soul band Black Market Brass. Third full-length LP from the band. Recorded live to tape. Features a locked-groove on the B-side.

Limited Antifreeze Green LP - 1500 copies

Canadian indie rock band Half Moon Run release a new album this week,

“While making this record, it felt as if we were boiling down a huge cauldron of musical ideas, trying to reduce it to something elemental,” Molander explains in examination of the album’s title. “And what we were left with was Salt.”

Limited edition 'bone' vinyl and standard vinyl available.

'The debut full length offering from Les ImprimésRêverie. The stirring and ethereal sounds of Les Imprimés have been making fans of anyone who hears them since their first 7” single hit the speakers. Morten Martens is the man behind the band. Born, raised, and working in Kristiansand, Norway, he keeps a low profile while making his heartfelt, highly infectious, and unique music. This album is a long time coming for Martens and it is sure to make him a name to be reckoned with.  '

'Lucid Blue' vinyl

New pop from Canadian singer songwriter Carly Rae Jepson, 'The Loveliest Time is the follow-up to 2022’s The Loneliest Time, which continues in Jepsen’s tradition of coupled releases - but this time they’re not so much B-sides as they are a second chapter. While The Loneliest Time was born from a period of isolation and self-discovery, The Loveliest Time is a celebration of that growth. Featuring shimmering lead single Shy Boy, The Loveliest Time is Jepsen at her most experimental and intimate to date.' White vinyl available

British 'Trumpeter, bandleader and composer Matthew Halsall announces landmark new album An Ever Changing View, an expansive, immaculately conceived project which presents Halsall’s signature blend of jazz, electronica, global and spiritual jazz influences. '

New CD

'In order to record the compositions on his critically acclaimed 2022 release Gold, Alabaster DePlume instilled a culture of creativity by leading his ensembles in spontaneous composition and development. This resulted in an abundance of material that he has since produced and arranged, resulting in this collection, Come With Fierce Grace. The direction here is firmly rooted in performance and less focused on post-production, featuring DePlume’s go-to collaborators in the London scene, and yielding particular space to percussionist Tom Skinner (The Smile, Sons of Kemet), vocalist Momoko Gill, and percussionist / vocalist Donna Thompson. The result is a raw, beautiful, percussive, group music, in-the-room music.'

'After years of being out of print, and on its 10 year anniversary, Silverstein reissue This Is How The Wind Shifts on limited edition vinyl. Celebrating ten years of the innovative, ground-breaking, and pivotal release, Canada's punk/hardcore/emo torchbearers, Silverstein, credit the album for kickstarting the second half of their illustrious career.'

Limited edition gold vinyl

'Friendly Fires was the debut album from the St Albans-three piece of the same name, Ed McFarlane, Edd Gibson and Jack Savidge. Featuring hit singles ‘Jump In the Pool’ and ‘Paris’, it was an era-defining record. It launched the band to huge critical and commercial success, nominated for The Mercury Prize and a Brit Award. The LP is now reissued for its 15th Anniversary on silver vinyl.'

'Ancient songs and poems which helped sailors navigate are to be learnt for a sunset performance in Lincolnshire.

Ruttiers were ancient poems - spoken or sung - which contained instructions sailors learned by heart and recited from memory to guide them at sea.

The artist in residence at the North Sea Observatory is to teach people a special ruttier later celebrating the Lincolnshire coast.

The song will be sung at sunset at a special event in October.'
