What a week!

Firstly... Record Store Day this Saturday 23 April 2022

We have been working hard behind the scenes to bring you the 15th Record Store Day - the spirit of RSD hasn't changed for us. It's a celebration of music by artists we love to love, of independent record shops (which are, for us, more than just a retail experience) and of being part of a music loving community.

RSD is clearly not perfect and not to everyone's taste. We realise that these are expensive items and so as music fans ourselves as with all our stock we are only stocking the releases that we really believe in and feel are worth it.

Doors will open at Off The Beaten Tracks at 8am, with over 250+ releases to choose from. And we live music from Experimental Sonic Machines at 10am and Jake Newby at 4.30pm. Bring it on!

FULL INFO ON HOW WE'RE RUNNING THE DAY IS HERE

Not only is it the 15th Record Store Day on Saturday 23rd April but Friday 22nd sees the release of Skinty Fia, the new album from Fontaines D.C.

'2020’s A Hero’s Death saw Fontaines D.C. land a number 2 album in the UK, receive nominations at the Grammy's, Brit's and Ivor Novello Awards, and sell out London’s iconic Alexandra Palace. Now the band return with their third record in as many years: Skinty Fia. Used colloquially as an expletive, the title roughly translates from the Irish language into English as “the damnation of the deer”; the spelling crassly anglicized, and its meaning diluted through generations. Part bittersweet romance, part darkly political triumph - the songs ultimately form a long-distance love letter, one that laments an increasingly privatized culture in danger of going the way of the extinct Irish giant deer.'

Originally released by Victory Music in 1991, Tin Machine II is the second and final studio album by Tin Machine fronted by David Bowie. Music On Vinyl gives Tin Machine II its first vinyl re-release since the 1991 original, and it’s pressed on coloured vinyl for the very first time. 5000 copies.

The Wedding Present's new single Monochrome (7” Version)/ You’re Just a Habit That I’m Trying To Break is the fourth release in the 24 Songs Series.

S Carey is the moniker of Eau Claire, Wisconsin-based multi- instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Sean Carey. Over the past decade, Carey has fostered his flourishing solo career via themes of nature and sustainability, songwriting built from jazz beginnings, and heartfelt, emotive lyricism. His latest and fourth album, Break Me Open is out 22 April. Limited edition eco teal coloured vinyl.

Timeland is a long-lost King Gizzard record mysteriously unearthed on the eve of 2022. It does not appear on any DSPs anywhere, making the physical product a highly coveted collector's item.
