'Recalibrating her singular journey in the British musical landscape with her most open-hearted, direct and intimate collection of material yet...Jane Weaver released Love In Constant Spectacle at the end of 2024...it evokes spectacular imagery and distills the artists’ vision in its purest form, elevating her inimitable sound and poetic vision to new heights.'

'Ol' Dirty Bastard rose to fame in the world renowned Hip Hop gang Wu-Tang Clan. His vocal input in Wu-Tang's Enter The Wu-Tang added comic relief and unpredictability to the overt gangsta lyrics, so when producer RZA worked with him to capitalize on his unique style on his own solo album, ODB jumped (probably literally) at the chance.

'Return To The 36 Chambers' (1995) is chock full of his rants, growls, schtick and off-beat rhymes. After release, 'Shimmy Shimmy Ya' and 'Brooklyn Zoo' quickly became true Hip Hop classics. An entertainer in his own right, Dirty was perhaps one of the realest rappers out there, and unfortunately died in his prime in 2004.'

Double vinyl released Friday 21st Feb

'Following their acclaimed debut The Summoned on Acid Jazz in 2023, Mama Terra return with a new album - Chameleons: Live Interpretations of Herbie Hancock.

The album recasts Hancock’s iconic works in a new, live setting, as a basis for both homage and exploration, with ‘Headhunters’ being a prime influence for leader Glaswegian composer Marco Cafolla.

The album grew out of Jazz FM’s ‘Classic Albums’ series, and was recorded live at the Glasgow International Jazz Festival in June 2024. The performance demonstrates the prowess of Mama Terra as a live outfit.'

Sam Fender releases his third album People Watching this week.

It's 'an album that reflects Fender’s incredible skill of...turning what he finds into songs that can subtly – and broadly – break your heart.' Rolling Stone

Blue Yolk vinyl edition available  from Friday 21st

We are very excited to announce that Jesse D Vernon's band Morning Star Music Club will be playing live in Louth on Good Friday 18th April at The Mayfair Club Family Club, Birch Road, Louth.

Tickets will go on sale very soon!

£10 in advance from Off The Beaten Tracks

Plus support to be announced

Spread the word for a great night of music right here  in Louth.

You might already know of Jesse from Moonflowers, This Is The Kit and The Fantasy Orchestra. He last brought his band Morning Star, formed in 1997, to perform in Louth in 2009 (check out the album A Sign For The Stranger from that year, it is one of our all time faves) and the group are now promoting their new album Liminal Zone, produced by John Parrish (PJ Harvey, Eels, Aldous Harding, TITK) to be released on 4th April under the new name Morning Star Music Club.

'The band's list of influences includes such diverse artists as the Southland Missionary Singers, Leonard Cohen, Radiohead, VU, and Beyoncé. The tunes sparkle with stunning vocal harmonies, funky basslines, elegant arrangements and Jesse's inimitable guitar work. Performances often feature spontaneous cameos and audience participation.'

More info about the band here: https://www.morningstarmusic.club/home

...and on that happy note we wish you a great week.
