Autumn Release News: Autechre, Black Pumas, The Damned, Matt Berninger, Tom Petty, John Foxx & the Maths

LOTS of interesting stuff to tell you about this week...Friday 16th October 2020

Rochdale electronic music makers Autechre (Sean Booth & Rob Brown) release their latest new album Sign.

Serge Gainsbourg's Intoxicated Man is released as a 3LP +1EP Box Set by Le Chant du Monde, who have brought together a specially curated collection of songs from the zenith of Gainsbourg’s career, 1958 - 62.

Woodkid's (aka Yoann Lemoine, a French director/songwriter) new album S16 is out on Ltd Red vinyl.

Tom Petty - Wildflowers and All The Rest is a new 3LP set featuring 25 songs originally recorded during the Wildflower sessions including 5 previously unreleased tracks.

In 2019 The Damned returned to Rockfield Studios where some of their most memorable 80s albums were recorded. This week they release their resulting 4 track EP The Rockfield Files on CD or Ltd Coloured vinyl.

A new album from John Foxx and the Maths, Howl is out on Ltd red vinyl their new line up includes Former Ultravox guitarist Robin Simon, Benge (Ben Edwards) and Hannah Peel after previously guesting with The Maths at their debut Roundhouse show in 2010.

We also have a couple of 80s flashback National Album Day later additions including The Wedding Present's 1989 album Bizarro, a New Kids On The Block Hangin' Tough picture disc and the Rocky IV Soundtrack as a picture Disc

We have the super deluxe one year anniversary release of Black Pumas' grammy nominated self-titled debut album. This new edition comes as a double LP with 7". It features new artwork with previously unpublished photographs and bonus tracks.

The National's Matt Berninger releases his debut album this week. Serpentine Prison is available on Ltd Blue vinyl.

Kevin Morby releases new album Sundowner, we have Ltd clear pink vinyl or CD in stock.

Peter Gabriel releases Live in Athens 1987 for the first time on vinyl as a remastered double album.

Beabadoobee Fake It Flowers is 20 year old Bea Kristi's grungey debut album. We have Ltd Transparent Red vinyl up for grabs.

The Who - Esssential is a brand new 3CD set including a disc of fantastic live recordings.

Other recent releases include Trouble's Coming, a 7" Single taster of Royal Blood's forthcoming album, Machinedrum's Vapor City on double gold vinyl and Bob Mould's Blue Heart on Ltd Tri Colour vinyl. We also have copies of New Order's reissued 12" single Blue Monday plus () the reissued third album by Sigur Ros on double black vinyl. Fleetwood Mac's Live 1969 (Oslo & The Hague came out end of September and is available on vinyl.

We are of course gearing up for the last of the 2020 RSD Drops which takes place Saturday 24th October. Sadly due to the continuing pandemic, we'll be running things in the same way as the previous 2 drops i.e. online only from 6pm. Our shop will be open on Sat 24th but Oct RSD items won't be for sale in the shop until the following week. A full list will be up this week and we'll give a full review in next Thursday's blog.
