New In Store this week...

Metallica releases 72 Seasons, 'Speaking on the concept of the album title, James Hetfield said: “72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.”

We have the indie exclusive purple double vinyl standard vinyl, CD and cassette versions to choose from in store or online .

'This week marks the 50th anniversary of the release of David Bowie’s Aladdin Sane, which was released only ten months after his breakthrough album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. The title track and songs such as ‘Panic In Detroit,' ‘Lady Grinning Soul’ and ‘Time’ marked a significant musical progression from its predecessor, adding brass, woodwind, soulful backing vocals and the distinctive piano playing of Mike Garson.

The cover of Aladdin Sane has become one of the most striking and memorable images in rock n roll history.

This limited edition 50th anniversary picture disc is half-speed mastered. This new pressing of Aladdine Sane was cut on a customised late Neumann VMS80 lathe with fully recapped electronics from 192kHz restored masters of the original master tapes, with no additional processing on transfer. The half-speed was cut by John Webber at AIR Studios.'

'Nonesuch Records releases singer songwriter Natalie Merchant’s Keep Your Courage, her ninth solo studio album and first of new material since 2014’s self-titled record.

An eclectic album, produced by Merchant, it features two duets sung with vocalist Abena Koomson-Davis (Resistance Revival Chorus), contributions from the Celtic folk group Lúnasa and Syrian virtuoso clarinetist Kinan Azmeh, and horn arrangements by jazz trombonist Steve Davis. There are lush orchestrations throughout by seven composers including: Gabriel Kahane, Stephen Barber, Colin Jacobson, and Megan Gould. Keep Your Courage comprises nine original songs by Merchant as well as an interpretation of "Hunting the Wren" by Ian Lynch of the Irish band Lankum.'

Limited edition transparent gold double vinyl.

'High Flyin' is a totally unique double-live album from the summer of 1977 recorded by a storied Northern California aggregation called The Ducks. It was a band that often made unannounced appearances in their own backyards at clubs like the Back Room, The Crossroads Club, The Catalyst and others, featuring Neil Young (guitar, harmonica and vocals), Bob Mosley (bass and vocals), Jeff Blackburn (guitar and vocals) and Johnny Craviotto (drums and vocals).

3LP and CD available

'Somewhere Under The Rainbow features Neil Young with the Santa Monica Flyers, recorded live at the Rainbow Theatre in London on Nov 5th 1973. It is a long-cherished show that has been celebrated for its completely spontaneous and high-revved performance featuring Neil Young (vocals, guitar) with the stellar band featuring Nils Lofgren (lead and rhythm guitar, piano, accordion, vocals), Ben Keith (pedal steel guitar, vocals), Billy Talbot (bass, vocals) and Ralph Molina (drums, vocals). In a night of high-wire performances and semi-unhinged sonics, the concert has taken on a mythic legend in the past 50 years'

2LP and  CD available

Florence & the Machine - Dance Fever: Live at Madison Square Garden

'Recorded at the band’s two sold out Madison Square Garden shows in September 2022, Dance Fever (Live at Madison Square Garden), the new live album from Florence + the Machine, features live versions of tracks from the much-lauded new album Dance Fever—including “Free”, “King” and “Dream Girl Evil”—plus classics from throughout the band’s career.'

Available as a gatefold 2LP on heavyweight black vinyl.

Multi-Award winning, hugely influential musician Feist returns with Multitudes, her sixth solo album and first since 2017’s Pleasure.

'The numbered Now series is back with Now That’s What I Call Music! 114 – 50 tracks across 2 CDs, providing the essential selection of the UK’s recent chart and radio airplay favourites. Lewis Capaldi’s fourth #1 ‘Pointless’ kicks the album off, followed by the airplay smash from P!nk, ‘Never Gonna Not Dance Again’. Huge hits from Meghan Trainor, SZA, Niall Horan, Coi Leray, Stormzy and Debbie, and the #1 ‘Escapism.’ from Raye feat. 070 Shake are all included.'
