Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Toast

'Neil Young releases his near-mythical 2001 studio album, Toast. Recorded at Toast Studios in San Francisco around the turn of the millennium, Toast features Young’s legendary musical collaborators Crazy Horse at a ragged and thundering apex. For the past two decades, Toast has been whispered about in collectors’ circles in hushed tones, as Young has dropped pieces of information about it here and there, especially as it contains three never-before-released songs.'

Laura Veirs - Found Light

'Found Light may be Laura Veirs’ 12th studio LP, but it also, in many ways, feels like her debut. If 2020’s My Echo - written and mixed just prior to her 2019 split from her longtime husband, her longtime producer, and the father of her two sons - was her divorce album, Found Light is about what comes after.'

Versatile Bristol based artist Katy J Pearson releases a new album this week.

'While Sound of the Morning undoubtedly develops her songcraft and expands her musical frames of reference, there’s a sense she wants to ease the listener along rather than produce a Kid A-style left turn. 'Having travelled to Oslo in the winter of 2020 when her world tour was cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Welsh singer, producer and songwriter got in the studio with Norwegian avant-noise artist Lasse Marhaug (known for her work with drone metal band Sunn )))). The pair envisioned making music somewhere in between Throbbing Gristle and Enya and, with the record’s tougher moments further sharpened by studio heads Cherif Hashizume (who’s worked with Jon Hopkins) and Beau Thomas (Aphex Twin), they created an album both beautiful and challenging.' Midnight Massiera - The B Music of Jean-Pierre Massiera is 'Eighteen sacred psychedelic suppositories from the laboratory of Mad Scientist and scalpel happy pop mutilator Jean-Pierre Massiera.'

The vinyl version of Sunderland born singer, songwriter and pianist  Emeli Sande's latest album Let's Say For Instance has landed on vinyl.

'It marks a new era of Emeli’s expansive artistry after a decade on stage and on the airwaves. Exploring new sonic territory through shades of classical, disco, nostalgic R&B and more, it sees Emeli freeing herself from the expectations of others, flexing her holistic skills as a songwriter, producer and vocalist in new, versatile ways. In her words: “‘an ode to resilience, rebirth, and renewal”.'

New in is The Rolling Stones - On Tour '66 Vol. 1 'Live radio broadcasts from Honolulu and Sydney demonstrate the onstage prowess of the Rolling Stones in 1966. These 17 tracks include several rarely performed such as Lady Jane, Play With Fire and Mother's Little Helper as well as a good selection of the bands hit singles such as 19th Nervous Breakdown, Get Off Of My Cloud and Satisfaction. The Hawaii gig is particularly notable as Brian Jones last ever live appearance in the USA. LP comes with full credits and extensive sleeve notes. '

Return of the Mac are Louth's own Fleetwood Mac tribute band featuring a glittering array of local talent. They are playing a free gig at the King's Head Sunday 10th July from 2.30pm with support from duo Both Sides.
