New music from shop fave Belle & Sebastian is out 6th May!

A Bit of Previous is the tenth studio album by Belle and Sebastian and their first full-length in seven years. We have the black vinyl version with bonus 7" and exclusive sleeve plus CD versions in stock.

LA alt rock band Warpaint have been one of our favourite bands of the last decade and this week sees the arrival of Radiate Like This, their first album since 2017. 'It’s an album that pulsates with ideas, energy and- most crucially – gorgeous melodies. Listen on in wonder.' Their recent BBC6Music live session sounded fantastic. Translucent yellow vinyl & CD in stock

Another class act New York singer songwriter Sharon Van Etten's sixth album We've Been Going About This All Wrong is out 6th May. The ten tracks on this intensely personal album 'are designed to be listened to in order, all at once, so that a much larger story of hope, loss, longing and resilience can be told.'

Limited edition marble smoke vinyl or CD versions available.

British R&B/Neo Soul songwriter Emeli Sande releases her new album Let's say For Instance this week. It is in her words "an ode to resilience, rebirth, and renewal”.

We have the deluxe CD book in stock now.

British 60s songwriter and pianist Bill Fay describes his songs as, “calming hymns for another chaotic time”. His recordings have been reissued this week on CD and vinyl, as well as versions of his tracks with artists such as Julia Jacklin and as 7" singles.

Out this week for country/americana fans is Terry Allen (American country music singer, painter, and artist) and the Panhandle Mystery Band - Smokin The Dummy 'This first-ever vinyl reissue, remastered from the original analogue tapes, includes a gatefold jacket and inner sleeve with restored, new, and alternate art and photos by Terry and Jo Harvey Allen; an insert with lyrics, original notes, and Terry’s letter to H.C. Westermann about the songs; and a high-res download code.'

Also reissued is...

Terry Allen and the Panhandle Mystery Band - Bloodlines - out 6th May

'The first-ever vinyl reissue of Allen’s manifold, moving fourth album, remastered from the original analogue tapes. Deluxe LP edition features 140g virgin vinyl; a gatefold jacket, inner sleeve with restored, new, and alternate art and photos by Terry and Jo Harvey Allen and friends, insert with lyrics and original notes.'

We have new releases on vinyl by 80s formed Californian metal band Mr Bungle headed by Mike Patton (Faith No More) The Night They Came Home released in 2020, was their first album since 1999 and is now out on limited edition green swirl vinyl. And The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo is also out - we have the 'Holiday' double LP version on multicoloured vinyl. This is 'a re-recording of the band's 1986 high school thrash metal demo along with songs written then, but never recorded.'

Richard Thompson's brilliant original soundtrack Music From Grizzly Man from Werner Herzog's 2005 documentary film is released on vinyl & CD 6th May, 'Recorded over two days as Thompson played live in the studio to Herzog's footage – mostly alone, at times in chamber settings with cello, piano and percussion – these tenderly detailed melodies and quietly visceral improvisations are cinema in their own right, rendered with pictorial instinct and the dazzling technique forged in Thompson's lifelong passage through traditional folk, psychedelia, North African modes and intensely personal songwriting. Also on the sessions was excellent experimental musician composer Jim O'Rouke' There's some great footage of the sessions here

New Norwegian pop from Sigrid this week - her second album How To Let Go - limited purple LP

Def Leppard reissues out this week - Pyromania - The album that launched the band into Rock legends when it was released in 1983 and Retro Active - the band's first compilation released in 1993

One of our favourite new artists we've come across recently is Virginia Indie Pop singer songwriter Kate Bollinger. Her new EP Look at it in the Light has arrived on Ltd Blue vinyl. It's songs are packed full of sunshine filled woozy charm.

Also issued this week a Half Speed Master black vinyl this week The Who's 1965 debut My Generation.
