As always lots to look through this week from new 12" and LP releases, some great reissues and plenty of 2nd hand to browse too of course..

Remastered and newly mixed albums are reissued by Belgian electronic band formed in 1978, Telex

Looking For Saint Tropez (1979) Neurovision (1980), Sex (1981) all available now.

Black Octopus is a 'rare Jazz-Funk album from 1978 by Headhunters founder, US jazz bassist Paul Jackson. Featuring an all-star line- up including Herbie Hancock. Originally released in 1978 on Tobisha EMI Japan.'

Limited to 500 copies

'Soul Jazz Records’ new second collection of twisted hyperspace electro / funk Space Funk 2: Afro Futurist Electro Funk in Space 1976-84, continues its intergalactic journey. Featuring rare and off-the-wall space funk and electro rarities and obscurities, all released on small independent USA record labels in the late 1970s and 1980s.

Artists on this release include Alien Starr, Bobby Demo, Maggatron, Mid-City Crew, Tribe, Junie, Rich Cason and the Galactic Orchestra, and many more intergalactic space warriors.'

'Peggy Gou’s global chart-topping hit ‘(It Goes Like) Nanana’ lands on 12” vinyl via XL Recordings featuring the original extended mix and an exclusive ‘Nananadub’ b-side. Inspired by the eclectic house and pop classics that defined the Balearic sound, alongside 90s and 2000s dance anthems and Peggy’s own inimitable contemporary club production, “(It Goes Like) Nanana” is undoubtedly the song of the summer.'

'Back due to unprecedented demand and available for the first time since the original 2012 pressing, Finders Keepers Records is proud to once again present these twenty-two rare and unreleased vintage tracks from the secret vaults of one of the most enigmatic composers in 60s/70s/80s European cinema, Andrzej Korzynski. Originally recorded in the best studios in Poland, Italy and France for experimental film, political allegories, lost television shows, sound libraries and radio – these tracks have been hidden behind the Iron Curtain on lost master tapes and film reels until now! Secret Enigma represents the first ever dedicated anthology of this great composer’s work.'

'Multi-dimensional artist and producer yeule releases their new album softscars via Ninja Tune...Recommended if you like… SOPHIE, Alice Glass, Hannah Diamond, Sega Bodega, Danny L Harle'

15th Anniversary Remastered Edition - double white vinyl limited to 4000 copies.

'Mogwai's sixth full-length album The Hawk is Howling contains all the extremity and dynamics you know and love, but with a more curious array of rhythms and melodies, hinting a bit more than previous records at both their electronic and metal influences.'

'Happy Songs for Happy People is the fourth studio lp from Mogwai. This is Mogwai distilled to their essence, and the result is an album of huge power, emotional depth and feeling, with vocals submerged under a claustrophobic blanket of effects and guitars battling with viola, cello, violin and piano.'

Limited edition green vinyl

'Mr Beast is Mogwai's fifth album and the follow-up to 2003's Happy Songs for Happy People. It was recorded in the band's new castle of doom studio in Glasgow between April and October 2005 with producer Tony Doogan. As the title suggests, this is a record of considerable size and weight - a monster creation that started out as a return to the heady, bone-crushing volume and intensity of earlier recordings, and then mutated into a many headed, many mooded beast.'

Limited Crystal clear double LP

One of our favs Teenage Fanclub release their new album Nothing Lasts Forever via their own label PeMa...Looking for positives while faced with the grim realities of the 21st century feels very Teenage Fanclub - a band who’ve been a force for good for over three decades and who can effortlessly turn melancholy into glorious, chiming harmony. '

Housed in Mirror Board Sleeve with Printed Inner. Translucent Red Vinyl.

'Grammy-winning recording artist Olivia Rodrigo releases her new album, GUTS via Geffen Records. She recorded the album with producer Daniel Nigro, who also collaborated with her on SOUR, her chart-topping, 4x Platinum debut album.'

Purple vinyl indies version

'Released in 1977, Steely Dan's Aja would go on to be their biggest selling album. Diametrically opposed to the burgeoning punk seen of the time, Aja was Steely Dan's most expensive-sounding record with the best session players, the best studio equipment and of course the technical prowess of Fagen and Becker. All the Steely Dan hallmarks are here - the smoothed out jazz rock flights, the muted grooves riding on an almost narcotic bliss, the effervescently tasteful arrangements.'

'The Comet is Coming returns with their second full length album on Impulse! Records. King Shabaka, Danalogue, and Betamax’s newest effort finds the Mercury Prize-nominated trio creating a musical landscape that is equally cerebral as it is physically enthralling. While containing elements of jazz throughout, this release leans further into heavy dance-hall themes, providing hypnotic, electronic soundscapes to dance to while keeping you intellectually stimulated.'
