New Releases for 14th May 2021

The Black Keys release their tenth studio album, Delta Kream this week. Dan Auerbach said of the album: “We made this record to honor the Mississippi hill country blues tradition that influenced us starting out. These songs are still as important to us today as they were the first day Pat and I started playing together and picked up our instruments. It was a very inspiring session with Pat and me along with Kenny Brown and Eric Deaton in a circle, playing these songs. It felt so natural.”

UPDATE on RECORD STORE DAY DROPS 2021 at Of The Beaten Tracks

This year Record Store Day is not one but two 'Drops'.

RSD DROP ONE is on Saturday 12 June.

The guidance we've been given by the RSD organisers is that whilst the country is still under Covid restrictions we are to welcome customers in timed slots which can be booked on our website one week in advance of the RSD Drop One day. This way a large gathering of people will be avoided. This is particularly important to us because our shop is located on Aswell Street, which is largely a residential area.

Each slot will be for ten minutes so anyone booking a slot must have decided which item(s) they would like to purchase before they enter the shop. As usual they will be able to buy one copy of each item from the RSD list. Unfortunately customers will not be able to browse the RSD stock on the day.

A full selection of all our RSD stock for Drop 1 will be available to browse online from next Thursday 20th May.

You will be able to buy a slot on this website on Saturday 5 June from 6pm. Customers will only be able to book one slot. Each slot will cost £10 to book. This will then be deducted from the cost of your RSD item(s) at the till on the day.

Off The Beaten Tracks will be then be open on Record Store Day Drop One Saturday 12 June for appointments only from 8.00am to 3.00pm.

Customers will also be able to purchase any remaining RSD releases on this website from 6pm the same day (Saturday 12 June).

I hope that all makes sense!!!!

The second Drop is Saturday 17 July by which time Covid19 restrictions should have been lifted.

This means the day will be more like a typical Record Store Day. We can be open all day with a socially distanced queue and hopefully some live music too. This will be confirmed nearer the time. For Drop 2 RSD releases will be for sale on our website one week after on Saturday 17 July.

If you have any questions about RSD21 at Off The Beaten Tracks do get in touch.

We've got so much new stock coming in at the moment, so do bear in mind that if something you're looking for is not listed on the website it may well be in stock in store. For those of you that know the shop you'll know that the website is only ever going to be a small selection of what we've got in our Aswell Street shop.
