Polygon Window - Surfing On Sine Waves (expanded edition) 3LP
Originally released in 1993, Surfing On Sine Waves is the second album released under the Warp Artificial Intelligence series (the series also includes the two titular compilations, as well as contributions by Autechre, The Black Dog, F.U.S.E. and more).
Surfing On Sine Waves is also the sole album released under Richard D. James’ (aka Aphex Twin's) Polygon Window alias. The name “Polygon Window” originally appeared as a track name under Richard D. James’ other pseudonym The Dice Man, as the track title for his submission on Artificial Intelligence.
Surfing On Sine Waves was chosen as a title by Rob Mitchell based on a quote by Richard D. James. The album debuted at #2 on the UK dance charts.
The album was followed the same year with a companion EP titled Quoth. The EP’s title track originally appeared on the album, accompanied by additional songs who first appeared on this release.

We have a host of reissues on vinyl from American grunge/sludge metal band The Melvins: Everybody Loves Sausages, Freak Puke, and Colossus of Destiny.
First formed in the 80s the band have been a big influence on many greats over the years including Nirvana and Soundgarden.

Out this week is a 4CD boxset - Nick Drake The Making of Five Leaves Left
'The Making Of Five Leaves Left includes unaccompanied demos, studio outtakes and previously unheard songs that tell the story of how Nick Drake’s debut album Five Leaves Left came to be released on Island Records in 1969.
This Nick Drake Estate authorised edition comprises over 30 previously unheard outtakes from the sessions, compiled across three discs. The final disc to complete the package is the original Joe Boyd produced album. The whole set has been mastered by John Wood.
Accompanied by a 60 page book printed on special textured paper stock, written by Neil Storey in collaboration with Richard Morton-Jack, complete with full track recording details, charts and recording history.'

The Zombies - Odessey and Oracle (mono remastered) - orchid coloured vinyl
'Recorded at EMI's Abbey Road Studios in 1967 during the final months of the original group's career, this British Psych-pop masterpiece yielded their last great hit 'Time Of The Season', but was destined for release after the Zombies had first broken up. It is the British pop group's all-time classic 'concept' album.
This new edition is the first time the band’s original mono mix has appeared since the record’s British issue in April 1968 and it’s the first time ever in America. Odessey and Oracle, The Zombies’ second album, has been named as one of Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and has been dubbed “a psych-pop masterpiece…decades ahead of its time” by Pitchfork. The newly remastered in mono album now has new liner notes by the brilliant David Fricke.'
Out 26th September

'Robert Plant’s Saving Grace is the first album featuring a new band of distinguished players, which he calls “a song book of the lost and found”. The genesis of Saving Grace began during the lockdown in “The Shire”, when Plant’s customary wandering was all but forbidden. While his recent adventures have centred around Nashville, having reunited with Alison Krauss for 2021’s chart-topping, multi Grammy-nominated Raise The Roof, it was in the English countryside that Robert Plant connected closely to this diverse group of musicians, who through their own experiences had a shared lean towards his much-loved corners of evocative song. Together, Plant and Saving Grace – vocalist Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley, cellist Barney Morse-Brown – have spent the past six years growing into a wide-ranging workshop of styles and personalities, weaving through time and circumstance with joy and abandon.'
