Here's a selection of what's new in store this week, call in at the shop to find lots more...

We have been fans of Norfolk born Beth Orton's song writing since discovering her albums Trailer Park and Central Reservation in the 90s, so it's great to hear that she releases a new self produced album this week.
The Ground Above is out this Friday 26th June via Partisan Records.
'A testament to her artistry, The Ground Above is Orton’s most direct and unapologetic music to date; urgent, raw, embodied and emotionally fearless, moving between subconscious expression and expansive, timeless song craft. Her voice, from whispered incantation to primal wail, equally delivers melodies reminiscent of classic songbook form. Throughout the album, Orton documents survival and renewal, motherhood and identity, political unease, and the ongoing choice to stay - in love, in art, and in the world.'
Smoky marbled vinyl and CD in stock

'Metallica is continuing to release remasters of their catalog, with the latest being the 4x-platinum ReLoad, available everywhere on June 26th. Produced by Bob Rock, ReLoad is the follow-up to 5x-platinum Load. ReLoad contains fan favorites including “Fuel,” “The Memory Remains,” and “The Unforgiven II.” Remastered by Reuben Cohen at Lurssen Mastering and overseen by executive producer Greg Fidelman.'
New Flaming Fuel 2LP

'Continuing the band’s 40th anniversary celebrations, Complete B-Sides: 1988-97 by Pixies is being reissued 25 years after its initial release, out June 26, 2026. Having been remastered, the compilation of the band’s timeless “other” tracks will be available on double black vinyl, double clear vinyl, and double CD; also marking the first time the release has been officially pressed on vinyl.'

Up and coming artist Chanel Beads aka Minnasota musician Shane Lavers releases his 2nd album Your Day Will Come this week.
'First things first: yes, Chanel Beads’ second album, Your Day Will Come, has the same title as the experimental project’s 2024 breakthrough debut. But this is a completely new body of work, not a “part two,” a rehash or a re-do. Raised in the suburbs of Minnesota, Lavers began making music under the name Chanel Beads while living in Seattle back in 2016. When he wasn’t working at a library for the blind, he was collaging synthetic sounds and real instruments into beguiling songs fundamentally averse to genre. He was living in New York by 2022, as tracks like “Ef” and “True Altruism” captivated certain online circles with their androgynous vocals, uncanny artifice, and stirring intimacy. In the years since Chanel Beads’ entrancing introduction, the project has gone from playing house shows and illegal abandoned train tunnel shows, all the way up to supporting Lorde on her recent North American arena tour.'
Pink vinyl and CD versions available.

'Australian five-piece Pond offer a skerrick of hope in a hostile world with their new record - their 11th - Terrestrials...Like much of the Pond catalogue, Terrestrials is a record of people and place, of exploring the identity of each, as well as where and how they intersect and interact. Terrestrials twitches with the desperation of people and planet on the brink, but ultimately bets on the beauty of both to prevail.'
