The Cure have announced the release of the 1986 mix of Boys Don’t Cry, making it available digitally for the first time ever in line with its 40th Anniversary. Initially released as a standalone single in the summer of 1979, Boys Don’t Cry became the title track of the US edition of the band’s debut album, Three Imaginary Boys.
The song went on to become one of the band’s signature tracks and achieved international success in 1986, when Robert Smith re-recorded the vocal and remixed the backing track. Although this new version was created to promote the best of collection Standing on a Beach– The Singles, the LP itself featured the original recording, and the 7-inch version of Boys Don’t Cry (New Voice – New Mix), now retitled Boys Don’t Cry (86 Mix), is being released for the first time in 40 years.
You can a CD single version on our website now or in store on Friday 30th January.
The 12" version is being released on 21st April, pre order here

Shop Window Live coming up...

Louth musician Henry Atherton will be promoting the release of his debut album All We Have Is Now on Saturday 7th March at 3pm, which is also Off The Beaten Tracks' 22nd birthday!
https://www.henryatherton.com/

And on Saturday 25th April at 2.30pm we will be joined in store by touring Indie Americana duo Roswell Road
'Jasmine Watkiss and Zoë Wren formed Americana duo Roswell Road after a chance meeting led to them being gently forced to sing together in a busy Cambridgeshire market square. The London-based multi-instrumentalists blend close harmonies with candid storytelling, drawing on experiences from mental health to family love to real-life activist adventures at sea.
Roswell Road's sound, which has drawn comparisons to First Aid Kit, Fleetwood Mac and the Indigo Girls, has taken them from sold-out shows at London's Green Note to stages across Europe, including Costa Festival Ibiza and a showcase at MiCannes, France.'
We are delighted that they will be joining us live in store this April.
