New Releases this week from Lana Del Rey, Steve Earle & the Dukes, Nitin Sawhney. Some fab reissues from Dire Straits, Trees, The Black Crowes and Peter Gabriel plus lots of great LPs & CDs new in stock from 2020 and recent releases from earlier this month including Nancy Sinatra, Keith Mansfield and Cool Ghouls.

New Releases for Friday 19th March...

Lana Del Rey's brand new album Chemtrails Over The Country Club arrives hot on the heels of her acclaimed 2019 album Norman Fucking Rockwell! and 2020’s poetry book and spoken-word LP Violet Bent Backwards Over The Grass. in stock on limited edition yellow vinyl and CD.

Arcade Fire & long-time collaborator Owen Pallett release the score for Spike Jonze’s critically acclaimed 2013 film Her for the first time on limited white vinyl.

In August 2020 Steve Earle's son the American singer/songwriter Justin Townes Earle sadly passed away. Steve has released an album of ten of Justin's songs entitled J.T. with all proceeds going to Justin's 3 year old daughter Etta. The album is available on red limited vinyl or CD.

Brand new from pioneer Nitin Sawhney Immigrants This double album 'is a unique celebration of immigrants around the world and showcases works inspired and contributed to by artists who either identify themselves as immigrants, are from immigrant heritage or wish to express support for those international immigrants who have found themselves judged or disadvantaged by pure accident of birth.' Black vinyl.

This Friday sees a Half-speed vinyl release of the Dire Straits number 1 classic Brothers In Arms. Also reissued as a 180 gram Half Speed Master is the excellent Mark Knopfler soundtrack Local Hero.

American Country icon Loretta Lynn releases her 50th album this week. Still Woman Enough is available on vinyl or CD.

Ringo's back! Ringo Starr releases a new EP this week on 12" vinyl and CD Zoom In features 5 new tracks recorded in his home studio late last year.

Bob Dylan 1970 is a 3CD Collection of Previously Unavailable Studio Performances, featuring George Harrison. The release is super limited to 500 copies.

Antidepressant is Lloyd Cole’s 2006 album is finally available on vinyl for the first time. Recorded entirely by Cole himself, yet sounding like the production of a full band. Including a bonus 7” Single featuring Coattails, a song recorded during the original album sessions which never made it onto the record. 

Plays Live is a compilation of live recordings by Peter Gabriel on tour across the American Midwest in late 1982. The iconic cover image of Peter in ‘monkey mask’ make-up was taken by long-time collaborator Armando Gallo. Available on 2CD.

Following the release of her debut album Forever Blue in July 2020 London musician A.A. Williams returns with Songs From Isolation an album of 9 covers feat. the songs of Nick Cave, The Pixies, Radiohead, The Cure and Deftones.

English folk rock band Trees (Bias Boshell, Barry Clarke, David Costa, Unwin Brown, Celia Humphris) reissue their 2nd album On The Shore this week. First released in 1971. Ltd 'Oxblood' Red LP available.

Berlin based, Peruvian artist Sofia Kourtesis releases her new EP Fresia Magdalena via Ninja Tune imprint Technicolour Fri 19th March.

This week sees the release of Great Spans of Muddy Time by William Doyle (East India Youth)

“The album this turned out to be – and that I’ve wanted to make for ages – is a kind of Englishman-gone-mad, scrambling around the verdancy of the country’s pastures looking for some sense,” says Doyle. “It has its seeds in Robert Wyatt, early Eno, Robyn Hitchcock, and Syd Barrett.”

Nancy Sinatra's new compilation Start Walkin' 1965-1976 is a newly remastered collection of tracksreleased 5th March. We have limited edition 'sugar pink' double 180gm vinyl with a 24 page book. Limited to 500 copies.

Kansas City Jazz musician Pat Metheny released his latest album Road To the Sun earlier this month. In stock on CD

San Francisco psychedelic rock band Cool Ghouls' fourth album At George's Zoo is out on red vinyl limited to 300 copies. 

Black Sabbath have released a new compilation Europe 1970 Live & Sessions on CD 

Pleasure, Joy & Happiness is a new album by Eddie Chacon (from 90s pop duo Charles & Eddie) released earlier this month. In the words of Mac DeMarco: “Eddie Chacon is planet earth’s number one musician. Yesterday, today, and forever.” 

Jane Birkin's 1973 solo album Di Doo Dah on black vinyl.

Last week Sting released a new 17 track album of duets, featuring collaborations with Mary J. Blige, Herbie Hancock, Shaggy and Annie Lennox. Available on CD or double black 180gm vinyl.

'The creator of the romping tunes that became the iconic themes to the BBC’s Grandstand programme and their televised Wimbledon Tennis Championship coverage, Keith Mansfield was perhaps KPM’s most prolific artist from the mid 1960s right the way through the 1980s. As well as the sort of pop orchestral sound that is all over these classic library records, he could also turn his hand to raw, edgy rock and funk. Quentin Tarantino is a big fan, going as far as including some of Keith’s work on the soundtracks to Kill Bill and Grindhouse.'

Percussion Spectrum is the 1979 album by legendary percussionists Barry Morgan and Ray Cooper. 

The iconic album series Back to Mine returned in 2019 to mark it’s 20th anniversary with the indomitable Nightmares on Wax, to share his personal collection of music for after hours grooving. Reissued this week on double vinyl due to popular demand. 

Surprise Chef are an instrumental jazz/funk quartet from Australia. Their latest album Daylight Savings was released in October of last year and is in stock on vinyl.

Amsterdam based band Altin Gun mix Turkish folk with psychedelic rock to brilliant effect and are a favourite of one of our regulars Nick. Their latest release Yol is a follow up to their Grammy nominated 2019 album Gece. Yol is in stock on CD. We're waiting for the vinyl to arrive.

The Decemberists' excellent 2nd LP Her Majesty from 2003 is reissued with a poster and the original artwork for the first time on vinyl.

Teenage Angst is a new 12" EP by Canadian rock/pop singer/songwriter Renforshort  Limited pink vinyl edition.

Released just last week by Gazelle Twin (the alter ego of Elizabeth Bernholz, a composer, producer and singer). Deep England features six piece drone choir NYX'like a particularly gruesome horror movie that you feel the need to watch again and again.'
