Happy New Year - we are blasting away any January blues and looking forward to sharing loads of new music with you in 2023, including more live music in store this year too...

New Releases

As well as being This Is The Kit's bass player London based musician Rozi Plain is a solo artist in her own right and we've enjoyed her numerous performances in Louth over the years.

This week Rozi releases a brand new album Prize, her 5th album, given 4 stars by The Guardian last week, 'the album marks her as one of our most innovative and engaging songwriters' and we can't wait to give it a spin!

Limited edition clear vinyl and CD available. Out Friday 13th January.

Belle and Sebastian hit the ground running in 2023 with new album Late Developers.

'Arriving almost back-to-back to 2022’s Top Ten album A Bit of Previous, Late Developers comes on like its predecessor’s sun-kissed cousin. It is a full-hearted embrace of the band's brightest tendencies that is not only fresh and immediate but possessing of that Belle and Sebastian je ne sais quoi of a group that will always be there for you with the perfect word or melody for the moment, while admitting tunefully that “Every girl and boy / each one is a misery” (“When The Cynics Stare Back From The Wall”).'

CD and limited edition vinyl available

'Billy Nomates, the project of the Bristol-based songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Tor Maries releases her much anticipated second studio album, Cacti via Invada Records.  Recorded at her flat and Invada Studios, Cacti is a huge step up for the artist, who received widespread critical acclaim for her eponymous 2020 debut album, with heavy airplay across BBC Radio 6 Music and support from luminaries such as Iggy Pop, Florence Welsh and Steve Albini...Maries said: “Writing Cacti took just over a year. I wrote very intensely and then none at all. (This seems to be the way I work best). I picked up old drum machines, mapped out things in my kitchen with the same small micro keyboard I always use and then raided the cupboards and rooms at Invada Studios, to play and experiment with old synths, an upright piano, this weird organ thing. I hope everyone finds their own narrative in Cacti. I think it's about surviving it all.”

CD and indies only variant transparent vinyl available.

'James Yorkston, Nina Persson and The Second Hand Orchestra release The Great White Sea Eagle, the follow up to James Yorkston and The Second Hand Orchestra’s The Wide, Wide River - a Guardian Top 10 Folk Album of 2021...After sending the first five or six songs to Karl-Jonas Winqvist (the ringleader / conductor of TSHO), they began to discuss working on the music together. With Yorkston’s shift from guitar to piano, they thought about what other changes they could make to their process which led to the involvement of a guest singer and the legendary Nina Persson (The Cardigans) was brought into the fold.'

Dark Green vinyl or CD

Out this week is the 50th Anniversary Edition of Fela Kuti's Shakara, a two-track release of 13-minute songs that showcase Fela’s satirical side.

Pink vinyl with a bonus 7" featuring covers of 'Lady' and 'Shakara' by London band Ezra Collective.

Much has been said and written about Nixon, the album that broke Nashville alt.country band Lambchop into the mainstream in the UK.

This Lambchop classic is reissued this Friday. Limited edition marbled vinyl edition available.

To celebrate 10 years of The xx's Coexist, The band release a limited edition, crystal clear vinyl pressing of the record.

Blues rock band Alabama Shakes celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album Boys & Girls with a limited edition crystal clear vinyl edition this week.

Nyah-Rock (funk/soul/reggae/African) band Cymande's debut self titled LP has been remastered for vinyl in 2022 at Abbey Road Studios, and pressed on Translucent Orange Crush Vinyl for the very first time.

U2 have announced a new album, Songs of Surrender will be released on 17th March. You can pre-order the deluxe CD or double vinyl versions now. There is also a 4LP version - get in touch of interested.

De la Soul's 1989 album 3 Feet High & Rising is being reissued on 3 March.

'It is listed on Rolling Stone's 200 Essential Rock Records and The Source's 100 Best Rap Albums...Sampling artists as diverse as Hall & Oates, Steely Dan and The Turtles, 3 Feet High and Rising is often viewed as the stylistic beginning of 1990s alternative hip hop (and especially jazz rap).'

You can pre order this classic album as a limited edition double yellow vinyl or limited edition magenta vinyl now...

Also out in March is the forthcoming album from Lana Del Rey, Did You Know There's A Tunnel Under Ocean BLVD is available to pre-order now - limited edition green double vinyl.
