Customer Top Albums of the Year
This week we hear from Ben and Simon.
Ben Adlam is the co-founder of Psych-A-Rella Records, Psych-A-Rella Club and Psych-A-Rella Live, as well as being the online editor at www.shindig-magazine.com and writing for the physical Shindig! Magazine. Currently based in London, Ben is a lifelong Ludensian and has been a customer at  Off The Beaten Tracks  since it was a market stall (1st purchase: Johnny Cash - Live At Folsom Prison. Last purchase: Incredible String Band - The 5000 Spirits or The Layers Of The Onion)
ALBUMS
1. Paul Molloy - The Fifth Dandelion (Spring Heeled Records)
Ex-Zuton and current member of The Coral and The Serpent Power Paul Molloy's  debut solo album is a perfect baroque, music hall, horror spiced psychedelic masterpiece.
2. Holy Trinity - Holy Trinity (Independent Release)
Another debut release from Holy Trinity, a 3 piece out of Russia chanelling Vanilla Fudge, Jefferson Airpane, Shocking Blue and the death of the '60s. Unfortunately only available online, but more support will increase the chances of a physical release. Listen HERE
3. Frankie & The Witch Fingers - Monsters Eating People Eating Monsters (Greenway Records / Reverb Appreciation Society)
A bombastic 6th outing for this LA based outfit who have developed from snot-nosed garage punkers int a more progressively psychedelic sound, epic tunes that invoke a shift in reality, imagine watching TV and the red and blur keep slipping, that's what this sounds like!
SINGLES
1. Sacred Orange - Mister Opal (Hypnotic Bridge) Glorious sun-drenched Byrdsian jangle from LA scene "supergroup"
2. Night Beats (featuring Robert Levon Been) - That's All You Got (Fuzz Club) - This is a huge gospel-esqe paeon to an end that really get's you in the feels (as the kids say).
3. Electric Looking Glass - Dream A Dream (13 O'Clock Records) - More psychedelic baroque pop, think The Zombies crossed with The Monkees and your on the right track but there's a long way to go!

Simon - Regular from Louth
Waxahatchee - Saint Cloud. Album of my year. Took a few listens before I got to track 3, just builds track to track and winded me in. Appreciate it just aligned with my taste, she recognises that she has to compare all future work with this one. Music, voice and lyrics at a level to deserve an album of the year.

A Certain Ratio - ACR LOCO: Classic ACR and an appropriate tribute to Denise Johnson (RIP 2020).
Individual songs worthy of note are Idles A Hymn and Taylor Swift Last Great American Dynasty both from okay albums but greater than the whole.
