Some cracking new releases out this week!

The wonderful Big Thief release their sixth studio album, Double Infinity, on 4AD.

'Double Infinity is the follow-up to 2022’s Grammy-nominated album, Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You, recorded last winter at the Power Station, New York City. For three solid weeks, the trio would ride bicycles on frozen streets between Brooklyn and Manhattan, meeting in Power’s Station’s warm wood-panelled room. Together with a community of musicians (Alena Spanger, Caleb Michel, Hannah Cohen, Jon Nellen, Joshua Crumbly, June McDoom, Laraaji, Mikel Patrick Avery, Mikey Buishas) they would play for nine hours a day, tracking together – simultaneously – improvising arrangements and making collective discoveries. Double Infinity was produced, engineered and mixed by longtime Big Thief collaborator Dom Monks.'

Various formats available from Friday 5th September

Legend David Byrne (Talking Heads) is proud to announce Who Is the Sky?, 'his first new album since 2018’s acclaimed and award-winning American Utopia, which will be released September 5th by Matador Records. The album was produced by the Grammy-winning Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus), while its 12 songs were arranged by the members of New York-based chamber ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra.'

Various formats available from Friday 5th September

We are HUGE fans of New York group El Michels Affair who are releasing new album 24 Hr Sports this Friday.

'Leon Michels has quietly become one of the most sought-after producers in music. His signature sound has caught the attention of the mainstream while continuing to inspire the underground. Since 2023’s El Michels Affair and Black Thought album Glorious Game, Michels has been busy producing records for other artists; Norah Jones’ Grammy winning Visions, Clairo’s Grammy nominated Charm, Kali Uchis’ Moonlight, as well as albums for labelmates Brainstory, Derya Yıldırım and Grup Şimşek, Thee Heart Tones, and Liam Bailey. His new album 24 Hr Sports marks the highly anticipated return to recording under his own moniker, El Michels Affair.

24 Hr Sports was inspired by the fashion and graphic design of ‘80s & ‘90s Sports Illustrated magazines, MF DOOM’s Special Herbs albums, the sample sources used on them, and gospel music a la Pastor T.L. Barrett. The sum of those influences with Michels’ impeccable creative touch prove to be the recipe for an instant classic that will surely be one of the most heralded releases of 2025.

Features Clairo, Norah Jones, Shintaro Sakamoto, Florence Adooni, Rogê, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, and Dave Guy'

Various formats available from Friday 5th September.

'Suede have released their 10th studio album ‘Antidepressants’ via BMG, the album is a milestone achievement that sees the band at the top of their game. It follows the success of their critically-acclaimed ninth top 10 album ‘Autofiction’ released in September 2022, which charted at No.2 on the UK Albums Chart and was their highest-charting release in over 20 years.'

You can catch Suede live at Lincoln's Engine Shed in February - details here:

'Idles - Caught Stealing (The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) and acclaimed director Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Black Swan) quickly formed a creative kinship, united by a deep mutual respect for each other’s work. When Aronofsky began developing his latest film, Caught Stealing (starring Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz) he turned to IDLES, his favorite band, to shape the film’s sonic identity. Drawing inspiration from the gritty energy of the 1990s New York punk scene that permeates the film, IDLES contributed four original tracks, a striking cover of “Police & Thieves,” and recorded the full film score, composed by Rob Simonsen (Deadpool & Wolverine, The Whale, Foxcatcher).'

Last Saturday we were treated to a fantastic set for Shop Window Live from folk musician Matt Tango Ellerby. Matt played original songs inspired by the history and folklore of Lincs from his new album 'Welcome To The Half Moon Hotel' - well worth checking out.

And if you missed it we'll be posting a video of the event on our Youtube channel very soon.

Wishing Matt best of luck with his entry to the Write A Lincolnshire Song Competition for which he was shortlisted last year.

The Finals Night concert will be held on Thursday 16th October at the Riverhead Theatre, Victoria Road, Louth, LN11 0BX. Doors will be open from 6.00pm and the concert will begin at 7.00pm.

'Save the Date: National Album Day returns on Saturday 18th October 2025 with this year’s theme celebrating Rock, following previous editions that, among other themes, have focused on the albums of the 90s, Women in Music, Debut Albums and, just last year, Great British Groups.

Rock music continues to evolve as an artform and is becoming increasingly diverse in its varied  breadth of offerings, with British bands including Wet Leg, Nova Twins, The Last Dinner Party, Mary in the Junkyard, and Sprints now lining up alongside the likes of Bring Me The Horizon in challenging conventions and in helping to shape a new and thriving contemporary rock landscape.'
