There's so much to discover in store! Here's a taster of our recommended new arrivals...not forgetting stacks of great second hand vinyl and CDs to dig through too

American Legendary Blues and Gospel singer Mavis Staples releases a new album today Sad And Beautiful World which spans seven decades of the American songbook -- a range nearly as vast as Mavis' career -- and includes reinventions of timeless songs by Tom Waits, Sparklehorse, Gillian Welch, Frank Ocean and more. Available on CD and LP.

Black Sabbath reissues of Paranoid and Master of Reality are out this Friday 7th November on vinyl and CD.

'Sleaford Mods have made an explosive return with a brand new single Megaton via Rough Trade Records. Over an arc of rolling beats and atmospheric electronics, the track is peppered with acerbic bars digging out cultural mediocrity. A union of groove and guile, Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn are ruffling feathers and moving feet with their first new release as Sleaford Mods since 2023 album UK GRIM.'

'Brian Wilson’s Live at the Roxy Theatre captures his triumphant 2000 return to the Los Angeles stage with two historic nights at the legendary Roxy, now remastered for its 25th anniversary. Available as a deluxe 3LP vinyl box set, expanded 2CD edition, and digital collection, the release spans career-defining Beach Boys classics, rare solo gems, and exclusive bonus tracks including “Soul Searchin’,” “Southern California,” and new additions like “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” and “Fun, Fun, Fun.”

We have Tame Impala's 'fifth full-length album, Deadbeat. On it, Parker sculpts a collection of wickedly potent club-psych explorations as a vehicle for some of his most direct, brain-wormy songwriting to date, recasting Tame Impala as a kind of future primitive rave act in the process.'

2 vinyl versions and a CD version to choose from.

'Goldie’s 1995 debut Timeless is often described as one of the greatest dance music albums of all time. As one of the founders of Metalheadz, one of the most influential drum and bass labels, Goldie helped shape the sound of a generation, and a genre that has spanned over 3 decades.

London Records celebrate 30 years of Timeless with limited edition vinyl formats, re-imagining the original white sleeve and putting the album on double vinyl for the first time since ’95, with new liner notes from Tim Barr.'

Take a look at these releases on vinyl from Tropical F*** Storm and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard in store now.

Chris Clark returns to the dancefloor’s simple, but no less affecting pleasures, with Steep Stim

Cambridge’s acclaimed psych-folk quintet Fuzzy Lights return with their fifth album Fen Creatures, which has received a 9/10 glowing review in this month's Uncut.

'Workin’ Man: Willie Sings Merle is Willie Nelson’s 78th solo studio album and 155th album overall. It features Willie's new interpretations of classic songs written by Merle Haggard, the latest in Nelson’s storied history of focusing entire albums on a single songwriter’s or artist’s work. Nelson and Haggard were longtime friends and collaborators who released three collaborative albums together: 1983’s Pancho and Lefty, 2007’s Last of The Breed (alongside Ray Price) and 2015’s Django and Jimmie.'

Vinyl and CD in stock

'Global alt-pop phenom sombr releases his highly anticipated debut album, I Barely Know Her, poised to catapult the 20-year-old MTV VMA Best New Artist nominee into superstardom status following an incredible year of momentous record-breaking charting success for a debut artist, and sold-out headline and arena tour dates around the world.'

Guitarist/songwriter Steve Anderson has released new music....

'Better known as a guitarist for the melodic rock band The Room, Steve’s musical pedigree extends back to the later years of UK neo-prog favourites Grey Lady Down, and before that the jazz-prog fusion of Sphere3. Not surprisingly, his first solo foray draws upon this broad musical background and the result is a suitably refreshing, eclectic and diverse smorgasbord of instrumental textures and styles, all overseen, mixed and mastered to great effect by Andy Tillison of The Tangent.

The result is Journeyman’s Progress Part One – a personal collection of both newer and older, redeveloped compositions, sketches and improvisations, many going back to his art college years. The eleven instrumental pieces range from dynamic slabs of neo-prog and melodic rock, beautiful acoustic interludes, ambient passages and quirky, jazz-orientated flights of fancy. Steve plays all the guitars, as well as keyboards, bass and programmed drums, and does a fine job in shaping the varied musical landscape throughout the album.'  The Progressive Aspect

Next on at Louth Film Club is To A Land Unknown

'Living on the social edge of Athens society two exploited Palestinian refugees seek escape. It’s a powerful film and the two main characters are very well developed and constantly engaging. Altogether the film conveys what ordinary decent family people can be led to by real desperation.
