Fontaines D.C. release a limited edition expanded version of their GRAMMY-nominated and BRIT-winning “ROMANCE” on turquoise vinyl, including a bonus black 7” single featuring the new songs ‘It’s Amazing To Be Young’ and ‘Before You I Just Forget’.

Sufjan Stevens released this song Epic Fail just after his studio album Carrie & Lowell and it was originally intended to be a tour-only 7", but was later distributed online by Asthmatic Kitty in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the famous “epic fail” incident that happened in Florence, Oregon in 1970, when a dead sperm whale washed up on a beach. It began to smell horrible so the Highway Department took it upon themselves to solve the problem by attempting to disintegrate the whale carcass with dynamite.

Don't miss recent releases from Wet Leg, Idols, Kae Tempest and more in store now!

'White Ladder (20th Anniversary Edition) celebrates the multi-platinum-selling album from singer-songwriter David Gray. This expanded, deluxe edition features a remastered version of the iconic album.'

American musician 'Alex G's Headlights is his tenth full-length album and his first with RCA Records. The album was written by Giannascoli and recorded across various locations in Philadelphia and New York. It was co-produced alongside his longtime collaborator Jacob Portrait.

Headlights is a gorgeous collection of surreal storytelling over twelve new songs. Giannascoli delves further into the reality-bending terrain that has made him one of the twenty-first century's most celebrated and influential musical architects.'

Out this Friday - metallic blue vinyl and CD versions available.

Great to see that Birkenhead band Half Man Half Biscuit are back with a brand new studio album released by the band themselves on their own RM Qualtrough label. Intriguingly titled All Asimov and No Fresh Air. It’s the band’s sixteenth full album of original material since 1985, and the first since 2022’s The Voltarol Years.

CD and vinyl versions available.

'Sparks, brothers Ron and Russell Mael, are back with their 28th album MAD!, their first release with Transgressive Records.

Most acts, by their seventh decade in the biz, would have slowed to a crawl, creakily playing their past hits on the heritage circuit and releasing nothing more than the occasional Greatest Hits collection. This is not the case for Sparks, who have triumphantly returned yet again, proving their resilience and relevance in a modern world with a fresh record and summer world tour to accompany it.'

CD available now

'Written and recorded in London between 2023-2025 with longtime collaborator John Williams, Night Mirror is a stunning collection of 10 brand new songs, suffused with optimism, loosely bound by themes of reflection and rebirth by German singer/songwriter Claudia Brucken (Propaganda)

Having first come to notice as the lead singer of Düsseldorf electronic music pioneers Propaganda, Claudia’s striking image and distinctive vocals made her one the most influential and inspiring female musicians of her generation'

CD and Vinyl available now

Legendary synth maestro Peter Baumann back into the studio for his first solo album since Machines Of Desire (2016). A defining force in the Berlin School of electronic music, both as a member of Tangerine Dream in their most essential era, and as a solo artist, Baumann has always bridged the cerebral and the cinematic. Available on CD.

Death In Vegas return with new album Death Mask, where disintegration, overload, and total sonic immersion tell a personal tale. With dirty circuitry and rough-hewn textures at the fore, this is gritty, unpolished techno; an audio outlier that’s full of personality, and a bold artistic statement. Available on LP.

Welsh Indie Legends Melys return with their highly anticipated first album of new material in 20 years. On CD and VInyl.

We've had lots of other new arrivals in the shop including reissue of Mercury Rev's brilliant debut Yerself is Steam, a new Limited LP from Jah Wobble and the classic British Jazz Funk album from 1969 by Joe Harriot / Amancio D’Silva Quartet - Hum Dono and lots more!!

The Verve's Richard Ashcroft 'returns with his new solo album Lovin’ You, his first new material since 2018's Natural Rebel. Lead track 'Lover' was written by Richard and, for the first time since his recording of ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’, incorporates elements of one of Richard's favourite works:  Love and Affection’, written by Joan Armatrading. Joan was approached before recording and loved the arrangement.'

The soundtrack was executive produced by Nigel Godrich with Edgar Wright and includes a number of original tracks composed by Beck and performed in the film by Sex Bob-Omb – the band featuring star Michael Cera on bass along with a previously unreleased track from Metric and tracks from Broken Social Scene, Beachwood Sparks, The Bluetones, Blood Red Shoes, Black Lips and Frank Black. Liz Overs is a songwriter, singer of traditional folk and folklore enthusiast. Her first solo album Nightjar was made alongside the Sussex coast with Neill MacColl, Ben Nicholls, and David Tomlins.

'Folk’s connection to the mythic and magical traditions of our isles has been in the ascendant for several years, spurred on by cinematic “folk horror” and the lingering influence of The Wicker Man. This debut from singer Liz Overs is thick with pagan references – unsurprising given that she has hosted a monthly radio show devoted to Sussex folklore, and has for years sung with local group Chalk Horse Music.' The Guardian

Liz visited Off The Beaten tracks last month to play live in store for us as part of her solo record shop tour.  Her performance on autoharp and shruti was stunning and gave us a fascinating insight into the stories, history and influences behind her music. Consequently Nightjar has become one of our our favourite albums of the summer!
