We hope those of you who indulged in the August Record Store Day Drop are enjoying your new vinyl. Thanks again for supporting us. After the rush of last week we are getting our heads down and preparing for the next RSD Drop on Saturday 26th September, as well as keeping an eye on all the fantastic new releases coming this Autumn. There have been some late additions but it's a far more compact list of RSD releases this month. There's plenty of great stuff though and we'll be uploading our stocklist to the website very soon in the next few days. In the meantime you can check out all the details on the official Record Store Day site

This week we're very excited about three time Grammy award winning legends The Flaming Lips brand new album, their 21st of their career, American Head - we have copies of Limited Tri Colour double vinyl or CD. 'On the band’s latest LP, the group gets both an ‘A’ for effort and for execution. Songs float, accelerate, rise, achieve high and low ground and spring forth colors in various sonic waves (“I think music unlocks something in you that nothing else can,” Frontman Wayne Coyne says. “It swims around the portholes in your mind and opens them all up.”).' American Songwriter

The Rolling Stones are continuing their run of remastered releases of their classic albums, the latest of these is Goat Head Soup, the 1973 follow up to Exile On Main St. It was released 4th September and is available on double 180gm vinyl or as a double CD online or at the shop.

Also released on the 4th was Peradam by Soundwalk Collective with Patti Smith on a beautiful ltd blue double vinyl with a 16 page booklet.

A shop fave next - Hull/Leeds based 5 piece shoegaze band Bdrmm release their 2020 debut album Bedroom on a special red vinyl this week.

Sam Prekop (of Indie Rock band The Sea and Cake) releases his latest solo album Friday 11th September. Comma is Prekop’s modern minimal pop album that taps into the experimental heritage of the synthesizer. The album places Sam Prekop’s work squarely in the tradition of electronic music pioneers like Brian Eno and Yellow Magic Orchestra who brought together the unrestrained ambition of the avant-garde with the immediacy and accessibility of pop music. We have limited white vinyl up for grabs.

Crass release G Song as a 12"  single on blue vinyl, limited to just 500 copies. A high-energy dancefloor deconstruction of the track mixed by New York DJ, producer and promoter Johnny Dynell with an experimental remix of the band’s infamous Banned From The Roxy by electronic composer and video artist Charles Webber on side B.

All That Emotion by Hannah Georgas is poised to be her international breakout - deeply personal songs produced by Aaron Dessner (The National) & recommended if you like This Is The Kit, Aimee Mann, Phoebe Bridgers.

We have 3 reissues as part of the Slay On Cue series, which sees the reissue of the 90s American rock band Spoon's first eight records in original editions on the Matador label  - Gimme Fiction originally released in 2005, Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga (2007) and Transference (2010) all priced £14.99 and all on black vinyl.

Continuing the run of great new upcoming releases for this autumn Gorillaz have a new LP out 23rd October. The band started the year with Episode 1 - ‘Momentary Bliss ft. slowthai and Slaves’ - of Song Machine, a whole new concept from one of the most innovative bands around. Now, six episodes in, Noodle, 2D, Murdoc and Russel have visited Morocco and Paris, London and Lake Como, as well as travelling all the way to the moon, and Gorillaz is ready to bring you the full collection titled Song Machine: Season One - Strange Timez.
