Soft Machine - Slightly All The Time – Recordings 1970-1974 - New 14CD + 3 Blu Ray Boxset

One of the key progressive rock groups of the late ’60s and early ’70s, Soft Machine began with Robert Wyatt, Kevin Ayers, Daevid Allen and Mike Ratledge. From the UFO Club and Middle Earth to the Jimi Hendrix Experience US tours in 1968, they quickly built a formidable reputation.

After The Soft Machine and Volume Two for ABC/Probe, they moved to CBS/Columbia with Wyatt, Ratledge, Elton Dean and Hugh Hopper, releasing 1970’s Third. Four more albums followed before the band split in 1978, later returning as Soft Machine Legacy in 2004.

Now back as Soft Machine since 2016, with latest album Thirteen released this March, they continue touring into 2027. This 12” x 12” box gathers the five CBS albums, remastered from original ¼” tapes, plus an unreleased alternate Fifth, complete BBC sessions, European concert recordings, rare photos and notes by Sid Smith.
