2023 will be 25 years since Virus Recordings started and the release of Ed Rush & Optical's first LP - Wormhole

To celebrate we are doing a special limited boxset vinyl release version of Wormhole LP

It will be including the original masters from Stuart@Metropolis and also the very first artwork from the original first release that was lost until just a few months ago and was designed by Stephen Tungay (RIP 1973-2022) and Fergus Quinn in 1998...with all original sleeve artwork for each of the 5 discs and high quality vinyl pressings in a lovely boxset and also a 16 page large format booklet of amazing artwork, with the original handwritten notes from the design planning and many cool photos from that era of all the Virus Crew

"The whole idea of an artist album of drum and bass music was pretty rare at that time and it was really a total gamble to put a whole years worth of songs together into one release but both Ed and Optical felt it was the right thing to do and that the music all felt right as a journey through what they were trying to create.

Recorded between 1997 and 1998, the album was released on the16th November 1998 on Virus Recordings, in vinyl and CD formats
The CD edition was a double disc, the second disc containing an hour-long continuous mix while the LP was a five-disc boxset, with a single track per side

The recordings were produced and mixed in Optical's custom built studio, based in Rob Playford's Moving Shadow offices, St Anne's Court, SOHO, London
The final mastering was done by Stuart Hawkes at Metropolis Studios in Chiswick, London.
